Room depth (front to back) is usually what rules a launch monitor out. Radar units sit several feet behind the ball and need ball flight in front, so they need the most depth. Camera units that sit beside the ball, or overhead units, usually need less. Below are the monitors where the maker or an authorized retailer publishes a minimum depth, shallowest first.

Shallowest options with a published number

Garmin Approach R10, Rapsodo MLM2PRO list 14 ft. Most radar units (FlightScope, Full Swing KIT) and overhead units list about 16 ft.

Side-of-ball units without a published depth

These sit beside the ball, so they don't need the space behind it that radar units do, but we couldn't confirm a published minimum depth: Bushnell Launch Pro, Foresight GC3, Foresight GCQuad, Foresight QuadMAX, Uneekor EYE MINI, Uneekor EYE MINI LITE, SkyTrak ST MAX, Square Golf Home Edition. Measure your swing plus ball flight to the screen before buying.

Don't forget ceiling height

Your driver swing sets the ceiling height you need, not the monitor (except overhead units: the ProTee VX needs a 9–10 ft ceiling, and the Uneekor EYE XO2/XR guidance is a 10 ft room height). Take practice swings in the room first.
